The choir took part in their first outdoor community outing when they sang in West Malling High Street on Sunday as part of the celebrations to switch on the Christmas lights. It wasn’t the best weather and as the choir assembled it began to get rather gloomy as dark clouds began to gather. As the choir started their half-hour slot the heavens opened and the rain fell.
Singing a mixture of carols and Christmas songs, the choir entertained the crowds in the street and got a great reception. It certainly wasn’t easy singing whilst holding umbrellas and fighting off the raindrops from the music and with the wind gusting it was a baptism of fire on how to sing in the open air! But it was great fun and brilliant to take part in helping to get the Christmas lights turned on. Merry Christmas!
Many thanks to Steve Baker (Gerry’s husband) for his great photos!
