Queens 60th Coronation Jubilee

West Malling Community Choir celebrated the Queen’s 60th Coronation Jubliee on Sunday 2nd June in grand style in concert with the Eynesford Concert Band and children from More Park Catholic Primary School. The Church had hired specialist lifting gear to enable them to move the front choir pews which meant that the full Concert Band could be set up with plenty of room for the Choir behind them.  With the church jam-packed and extra chairs having to be shipped in for the brilliant crowd, the patriotic extravaganza completed a day of fun and celebration for the West Malling community.

The concert went off really well with pieces from the Concert band and West Malling Community choir and some delightful songs from the Primary school children.

The grand finale was something to behold with ‘I Vow to Thee, my Country’ and ‘Jerusalem’ and the whole audience on their feet, waving their flags and joining in to an encore of ‘Land of Hope and Glory.’ Everyone was buzzing at the end! It was a fantastic night and we hope everyone involved and in the audience enjoyed themselves – we certainly did! You can see a video of the finale on YouTube and there are some professional photos of the event right here.
