Happy 3rd Birthday WMCC!

Last night we celebrated our 3rd year anniversary. It’s exactly three years since Trudy Dean asked Jane Anderson if she would help with setting up a community choir. Jane asked Jeffery Vaughn Martin if he would be interested in helping and the rest is history.

Around 60 people arrived in the Baptist Church in Swan Street for the first meeting, all a little nervous and wondering what they had let themselves in for. The six week trial flew by and everyone voted to become a permanent fixture.

Three years later, we have performed with a number of other musical groups from both the UK and abroad and have sung in public indoors and outdoors. We have over 100 people on the books and have around 60 people arrive for each rehearsal.

The choir goes from strength to strength and our members love the friendly and social nature of the choir proving that music can make you forget all your troubles and bring people from different backgrounds and ages all together.

Here’s to many more years of making music together,

Happy 3rd birthday everyone!
